Message It was a gorgeous day, mid 70's in August in Indiana is almost unheard of. It started off in a little city called Plainfield just outside of 465 on the West side of Indianapolis as just a meeting point of origin and to discuss the rules.

My local Z club hosted a "mixed marque" fun drive through the center lower center section of Indiana. In this section it's very curvy on the old, seldom traveled 2 lane roads. Your biggest competition for road time is the occasional piece of farm equipment or an old pickup truck.

I've lived in Indiana for 15 years now, I had no idea we had so many curvy, fun, hilly roads to drive around here. We had to drive a bit to get there - for me this area is 30 minutes away - but once you're there it just seems like an endless roller coaster.

Did we drive fast? Yes. Too fast? I would say no but I will also confess this the most I've ever pushed my car and I was stunned at how well I was able to keep up with the faster cars and more exotics. To be quite frank, I was impressed all to hell and back with my old Z. The thing is, I was afraid of getting lost and pissing everyone off behind me so I did my damnedest to keep up with the Corvette, Twin Turbo Z32, Porsche 911 and AMG SL55 that I was behind at different times as we stopped and re-started.

Now, having said that, I have brand new tires, I just had a timing belt, all new hoses, a full tune up, the full 60k work done plus I just installed brand new brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors, stainless steel brake lines, super blue brake fluid, hawk hps brake pads and my Z only has 49k miles to begin with so it's really seldom used and in pretty good condition.

So this is my car ('93 300zx)

I spent most of the drive behind this gorgeous and fast AMG SL55:

The red Twin Turbo (heavily modified I later found out)

Diablo 6.0

Ferrari 308 with a supercharger

The Italians gassing up (Diablo filled up 3 or 4 times during the trip - you can kind of see the Diablo in the background there)

First time getting passed by a Diablo. It sounds just about as amazing as it looks, very nice! Oh and the paint on this car is absolutely stunning, my piss poor photography skills couldn't capture the depth of this paint, it's a pearl yellow and it's just amazing. Of course this thing attracts a constant crowd wherever it stops. It has to get old at some point to the owner I would think. Nice headlights I'm sure he probably gets asked about those more than anything! :)

We stopped a couple of times, once for lunch, once for a break. I snapped up shots whenever and wherever I could.

This Z had a really well built (gorgeous) small block chevy motor in it

This old turbo Z was stunningly perfect, it was in pristine condition

This one was another time capsule, it was just gorgeous

AMG SL55 - this was just quick as hell too and it was hilarious to see how well it could handle - just an amazing car

The following are not my pictures, I'm posting these ones that other people took.
